DESIGNER GREG MYLER AIMED TO ATTRACT
MODERN-DAY ART CURATORS THROUGH HIS LATEST OFFERING.

By Andrew Shang on March 29, 2017

Designer Greg Myler aimed to attract a certain type of woman this season, specifically modern-day art curators who immerse themselves in art, travel and culture. His latest offering spanned workwear, evening and special occasion in what the brand dubs “total lifestyle” for a range of elevated attire with a relaxed sensibility.

His idea for modern power dressing created a space for day-to-night outerwear, like a double-faced cashmere bathrobe coat in petal pink, a reversible color-blocked cashmere jacket, and an iconic house jacket with dropped shoulders; it could all pare back to pants with a sense of elevated ease, like the cashmere ribbed pajama pant, wool cigarette pant, or cropped flares that come in suede, wool and satin. The most modern sense of understated sophistication came through with silky blouses that could be tucked into woven knit skirts. That idea of effortlessly chic dressing made the collection as approachable as it was — though velvet bomber jackets, metallic leather bomber jackets and cozy knits certainly helped.

Evening attire erred young. A short duchess satin dress with ostrich feathers adhered by Swarovski crystals and a reversible lavender lamb vest over a lace and silver lame gown were seemingly targeted at social butterflies. Classic options included a caviar black velvet gown, a draped violet satin charmeuse gown, and a sharply tailored evening coat made of lightweight knit featuring sequins machine-spun into yarn then woven together.
