In 1962, Marie and Robert Gray launched St. John with sleek, streamlined knit dresses. These pieces helped define the brand's signature look, finding fast fans across the globe who gravitated to the quality, fit, and timeless aesthetic of the pieces. Consistently a favorite amongst the fashion set, St. John also became a staple for so many women. From professional suiting to knit sets to glamorous gowns, our clients have turned to St. John for generations to look and feel their best.

While modern women, from First Ladies to Hollywood starlets continue to flock to the brand, VOGUE recently recognized the appeal of America's oldest and most beloved cross-generational fashion house. With tweeds and suiting at the forefront recently, VOGUE noted, "...for the dedicated, it meant shopping St. John, whether vintage or new." Leandra Medine Cohen, pictured in the VOGUE piece, told the publication, “There’s been a gravitational pull towards more mature style cues," a sentiment that has sent women of all ages to sites like TheRealReal seeking these prized styles. TheRealReal in turn reported St. John as one of six brands currently “Defining the Cultural Zeitgeist.” Perhaps, as VOGUE notes, "The craftsmanship was top-notch." Or perhaps granddaughters have found a new perspective when styling their grandmothers' hand-me-downs, but one thing we know is that the world is still shopping the past six decades of St. John style.

Today, St. John celebrates its heritage while evolving with its client base. Led by Creative Director Enrico Chiarparin, each Collection maintains the brand's values while mixing in unexpected touches for a mix that's uniquely fresh, yet forever. We turned to stylist Karla Welch as a Creative Consultant, who brought her impeccable eye and red carpet experience to the styling mix. As Chiarparin explained the St. John woman to VOGUE, “She’s a woman who knows what JW Anderson or Phoebe [Philo] is doing, but she’s not following the trends." This self-awareness and confidence is what continues to attract incredible women doing extraordinary things, all while looking and feeling their best.
